A few ways you can support those facing hardship during this difficult time.

IMMEDIATE SUPPORT

Regional Support through Ketchum-Downtown YMCA

Volunteer at the Ketchum-Downtown YMCA (401 S Hope St.) between the hours of 9am - 5pm to assist with sorting items, unloading items, and delivering donations to affected YMCA centers now through January 18. 

Donate critical items (gloves, masks, diapers, wipes, toiletries, paper towels, and dry food and snacks) and drop them off between 9am - 5pm now through January 17, and 9am - 12pm on January 18.

American Red Cross

Donate blood in Downtown LA:

The Bloc on January 22, 2025 between 10am - 4pm. Please visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter: thebloc to schedule an appointment.

Ketchum-Downtown YMCA on January 23, 2025 between 10am - 4pm. Please visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter: KetchumYMCA to schedule an appointment. 

Support American Red Cross Disaster Response by applying to be a Shelter Volunteer or donate to the Wildfire Relief Fund.


Shop Quirk Free Clothing Boutique

Shop Quirk LA (112 West 9th Street Suite 400 on 9th and Main) has established a free clothing boutique for LA fire victims and is seeking community support. Volunteer in-person between 5pm - 8pm daily accepting, sorting, and organizing donations. Donate white garbage bags, clothing hangers, sturdy clothing rolling racks, display items, water, chargers, colored tape, sharpies, and box cutters. Please spread the word to affected families so they know about this free option to create a replacement wardrobe with high-quality clothing. If families can't make it into DTLA, they can order clothes via their online form, coming soon. 


Meals for LA Fire Support

This is a partnership between Happening in DTLA and the local non-profit Chefs Supporting Chefs. Their goal is to serve approximately 600 meals a day to first responders, fire fighters, and those impacted until the fires are fully contained and to extend assistance to those in recovery as they rebuild. World Central Kitchen

Support World Central Kitchen, founded by San Laurel and Agua Viva’s, Jose Andres. At the moment, World Central Kitchen’s Relief Team is in Southern California to support first responders and families impacted by wildfires in the Los Angeles area. Their teams and partners have mobilized across the region to provide nourishing meals to people in need. Sign up to volunteer, or donate here.


SUPPORTING FIREFIGHTERS

The Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firefighter's Fund

The Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firefighter’s Fund is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charity, founded in 1906, and dedicated to helping the families of firefighters injured or killed in the line of duty or facing other crisis. The beloved Hope for Firefighters event in DTLA benefits them annually. Currently, there are 4 firefighters who lost their home. Donate here.


LAFD Wildfire Emergency Fund

Support the LAFD Wildfire Emergency Fund to equip LAFD members battling wildfires with tools and supplies. Donate here.


SUPPORTING THE UNHOUSED COMMUNITY

People Assisting the Homeless (PATH)

Donate supplies and goods through this Amazon Wishlist to support those impacted by the fires or give to PATH's Emergency Relief Fund which enables crucial resources to those experiencing homelessness during emergencies. If you’re interested in signing up for volunteer opportunities, please email pathvolunteers@epath.org


SUPPORTING THE ARTS

Colburn School's Fire Relief Fund

This fund was created to provide a variety of aid to the Colburn School community, including connecting people who have extra housing with those who need it, delivering meals to families who are still displaced, helping students who lost their instruments find replacements, and arranging for local students whose homes are now unlivable to reside on campus. Los Angeles Public Library Palisades Branch Recovery Fund 

The Los Angeles Public Library (LAPL) and the Library Foundation of Los Angeles (LFLA) are deeply saddened by the devastating fire that recently destroyed the Pacific Palisades, including the Palisades Branch Library. To aid in recovery, we are launching the LAPL Palisades Branch Recovery Fund, dedicated to helping the community through this challenging time. Donate here


LA Arts Community Fire Relief Fund

This emergency relief fund is for artists and arts workers who have lost residences, studios, or livelihoods or have otherwise been impacted by the devastating Los Angeles fires. MOCA, The Broad Art Foundation, and other Downtown arts organizations have joined the Getty and a coalition of major national and international arts organizations, philanthropists, and individuals as funders of this initiative. SUPPORTING SMALL BUSINESSES

Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation: Small Business Disaster Recovery Fund 

This fund will support impacted small businesses through immediate needs assessments, one-on-one advising, training, resources, FEMA and SBA loan instruction, direct grants, financial resources through partners, and disaster recovery webinars. Donate here.
