Get Around DTLA With Ease

With so many ways to move through Downtown LA, there is always a mode for you. Well-served by a matrix of public transportation and private companies, DTLA is accessible and convenient from anywhere.


Metro

Riding Metro is easy! With convenient access to Downtown LA from four Metro Rail lines - Red, Purple, Gold, and A Line - and hundreds of Metro bus lines, Metro can get you here from just about anywhere in LA County. Day passes are only $7 to ride all Metro-operated rail and bus lines. Dash Buses

Ideal for traveling within the urban center, DASH is the way to go – and for only 50 cents! Six routes serve the Downtown area with stops at major tourist and business locations. Weekday routes are every 5-12 minutes, ending at 9pm. Weekend service is also available.

Metro Bike Share

You can find dozens of bicycle stations in Downtown LA through Metro Bike Share. All rides are $1.75 for 30 minutes. 24-hour passes are just $5.00, and annual passes are also available. Purchase with a credit card at any station or online.

Angels Flight Railway

The 118-year-old funicular takes passengers on a short ride between Hill Street and Grand Avenue on Bunker Hill. Originally opened in 1901, Angels Flight® - the world's shortest railway - has given more than 100 million rides on its hillside track. The Railway's Top Station is located at California Plaza, 350 S. Grand Avenue, and its Lower Entrance is located at 351 S. Hill Street, across from Grand Central Market. 

The fare is $1.00 each way or $0.50 for Metro TAP Card users with Stored Value for a one-way trip.

Electric Scooters

Electric scooters, or "e-scooters", are now permitted to operate in Downtown LA. These include Lime, Bird, Spin, and others. In order to ride, you must download the company's app to your phone. Riding on sidewalks is not permitted, and safe riding is strongly encouraged.  There are several suggested "parking zones" throughout DTLA, but you are not required to drop off your scooter in these locations.

Mass transit not your thing? Hail a taxi! When you board, look for the official City of LA Taxicab Seal. Taxicabs bearing this seal are insured, have trained drivers, and are regularly inspected by the City of LA.

Dodger Stadium Express

Going to a game? Go Metro to Union Station and connect with the Dodger Stadium Express. You won't have to fight traffic and you'll help reduce air pollution. Best of all, the trip is free with your Dodger ticket! Union Station is served by Metrolink, Amtrak and many Metro and municipal bus lines, plus Metro Rail's Red, Purple and Gold lines. So, it's easy to leave your car at home and connect with the Dodger Stadium Express.
