The Midnight Mission
A part of the Downtown LA community since 1914, the Midnight Mission offers a bridge to self-sufficiency for people experiencing homelessness through recovery services, counseling, education, training, workforce development, and continued care services. Consider giving your time and attention to the men, women, and families who come to the Midnight Mission hoping for a chance at better lives. Volunteers help with meal services, giveaways, and other special projects and are critical to the execution of the Mission’s mandate.
Downtown Women's Center
The Downtown Women’s Center is the only organization in Los Angeles focused exclusively on serving and empowering women experiencing homelessness and formerly homeless women.
Create Now
Create Now’s mission is to empower youth and young adults from ages 3 to 24 through a variety of arts programs in multiple disciplines that help them to heal and thrive. Our goal is to assist them to get out of poverty and learn skills that can lead to jobs and careers.
California Hospital Medical Center Foundation
The California Hospital Medical Center Foundation raises, manages, and distributes funds in support of the mission and values of California Hospital Medical Center.. Find out how you can spend an hour of your time to make a difference in the Downtown LA community by volunteering at the Foundation.
Good Samaritan Hospital
A leading Downtown LA hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital provides accessible, quality, cost-effective, and compassionate health care services to the DTLA community. ‘Good Sam’, as it is often called, graciously welcomes volunteers as they enable the hospital to provide a higher level of service and contribute to the overall comfort of our patients and visitors.
Inner-City Arts
Inner-City Arts engages young people in the creative process in order to shape a society of creative, confident, and collaborative individuals. By sharing your time with students and faculty, you can play an important role in improving academic and personal outcomes of an often-overlooked segment of our community.
LA Philharmonic Association

Los Angeles Conservancy
The Los Angeles Conservancy is a nonprofit membership organization that works through education and advocacy to recognize, preserve, and revitalize the historic architectural and cultural resources of Los Angeles County. Museum of Contemporary Art
Established in 1979, MOCA is the only artist-founded museum in Los Angeles. Housing one of the most compelling collections of contemporary art in the world, the museum is a world-renowned destination and revered leader in the art world. Hand-picked volunteers become integral components of the museum's Visitor Services operations and provide valuable support behind the scenes by assisting on projects.
Playworks Los Angeles
Playworks brings out the best in kids, through play. By providing teachers, school districts, and other educators with thoughtful approaches to recess, Playworks helps these individuals and organizations design play environments that help improve children’s physical health and social and emotional learning. Volunteering with Playworks is a hands-on experience, and you’ll be trained by a play expert who’ll help you jump into the action and make a difference. Union Rescue Mission
Established in 1891, Union Rescue Mission (URM) is one of the largest rescue missions in the United States and the oldest in Los Angeles. URM is committed to life-transforming ministry through the values of Respect, Relationship, Redemption, and Restoration. The organization provides many different opportunities for those with a servant heart to volunteer, including meal service, childcare, clothing drives, and special events. Los Angeles Mission
Since 1936, the Los Angeles Mission has responded to the diverse needs of those experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles by providing housing, meals, emergency outreach services, and college & workforce development opportunities 365 days a year. As a holistic-centered human services agency, The Los Angeles Mission breaks the cycle of homelessness and poverty, by stabilizing people in a safe and spiritual environment, connecting them to solutions and walking with them on their journey. We encourage our local businesses and community to get involved with our work by providing opportunities for volunteering, research, donations, and corporate social responsibility projects.
