THIS JUST IN
Massilia Is Here!
100 S Grand Ave
Downtown just welcomed a serious culinary moment with the arrival of Massilia - DTLA. This French inspired brasserie brings the bold, vibrant flavors of Marseille, plus Mediterranean touches from Italy, Spain, and North Africa, straight to the heart of DTLA. Rooted in Provençal cooking and shaped by port city influences, this is not your average all-day spot.
Whether it is Moroccan couscous royal with chicken, merguez sausage, lamb, and seven vegetables or their incredible steak frites with béarnaise, this is definitely a spot you need on your list. Their all-day menu means it's great for grabbing coffee to cocktails and the space itself is absolutely gorgeous. Plus, despite the beautiful interior and food, Massilia serves cuisine that feels wonderfully approachable.
So excuse us while we shout for the next several weeks, this is a big deal. A restaurant that gives locals and visitors alike a reason to savor a full DTLA experience. Learn more.

SPECIAL EVENT
Shine LA
Saturday, February 28 | 8 am - 12 pm
Ready to show some love for Downtown LA? This Saturday, February 28 from 8 am – 12 pm, Downtown is coming together for Shine LA: DTLA Proud, a community-powered beautification event that celebrates the vibrant spirit and pride of our city. Organized as part of the Shine LA movement, this is your chance to join neighbors from across Los Angeles, roll up your sleeves, and help uplift one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in the region.
Make a day of it: once you’ve helped Shine LA, stick around to explore Downtown’s incredible local restaurants, cafés, and bakeries. Grab a well-deserved lunch at Villa’s Tacos (of recent Super Bowl fame) or enjoy DTLA Cheese’s weekend brunch, their hash brown is legendary. Support small businesses like Surfboy, open until 3 pm, or browse the memorabilia at Grand Central Market’s gift shop. If you’re feeling like you deserve a celebratory Bloody Mary or mimosa, Redbird up the street has you covered until 2 pm.
So come for the community, but stay for the food. See you there!

ASK JOHNNA
A Tini Bit Obsessed
Hi Johnna, My girls and I are on the hunt for a classic martini to hit after work, we’d like to stick within a block or two from our office on 7th and Grand. Tysm! —Jenny T.
Hi Jenny, You are sitting in prime martini territory, the perfect hunting ground if you will. For a crisp, no-notes classic, head to Water Grill where the martinis are ice cold, expertly balanced, and pair perfectly with oysters if your “quick drink” turns into a proper unwind. If you’re craving something moodier and a little more tucked away (I.e. you need to yap about your office crush), Library Bar delivers cozy, low-lit privacy. And for a little after-hours glam with personality, Shoo Shoo Baby brings a playful cocktail space within easy walking distance. Honestly, you and your girls can’t miss. Add to Outlook as “Olives or twist” and call it very important team bonding.
Hope this was helpful and see you around the neighborhood. :) —Johnna
