Epilogue: An Infinite Zoom

In his 2005 article “Centripetal City," author Kazys Varnelis talks about the building One Wilshire in Downtown Los Angeles. In this article, Varnelis describes One Wilshire as no longer an office building for human workers but rather a data center for information processing.

In this final epilogue, we tell a story about Downtown Los Angeles inside of One Wilshire. One Wilshire, a building inside of a skyline, a skyline inside a model.

One Wilshire, now a data center for non-humans.

One Wilshire is inside of the skyline of Downtown Los Angeles.

The skyline of DTLA is inside a window.

This window is inside of a room.

This room is inside an architectural model.

This model is inside a photoshoot.

This photoshoot is inside a warehouse.

This warehouse is a digital file.

This digital file is inside a computer.

This computer is inside an office.

This office is inside a house.

This house is a part of a network of data.

This network of data is part of a more extensive network of data.

The multiverse of data is an interconnected system of files.

This system of files sits within a data tower.

This data tower sits next to more towers.

All of the towers are inside of One Wilshire, the physical tower.
