School on Wheels Volunteer Sign-Up Day at The Pie Hole
This Saturday, August 27 from 11am-4pm the Los Angeles community at large can come together to support students experiencing homelessness during the School on Wheels activity day at The Pie Hole Arts District location 714 Traction Ave, 90013.
This Back to School effort comes with a sweet call to action for Angelenos to donate funds and bring much needed school supplies to School on Wheels and sign-up to volunteer. The first 100 customers at The Pie Hole who sign-up to volunteer or donate will receive a free slice of Mom’s Apple Crumble Pie.
Since 1993, the mission of School on Wheels has been to enhance educational opportunities for children who are experiencing homelessness from kindergarten through twelfth grade. School on Wheels partners with over 400 sites across Southern California (Santa Barbara, Ventura, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange) – including libraries, shelters, and after-school programs. Volunteer tutors provide stability, consistency, and educational support. Every student in the program receives a NEW backpack filled with school supplies. Over 5,000 students annually are provided with the tools they need to succeed in school through School on Wheels.
