Saturdays in September, Rooftop Cinema Club is shining a spotlight on some of cinema’s most divisive movies - comedies that critics just didn’t get, an ambitious, visionary feast that’s “not for everyone,” and just a plain ol’ good time at the movies that some “no fun” snobs felt the need to scoff at.

This week is Moulin Rouge. A celebration of love and creative inspiration takes place in the infamous, gaudy and glamorous Parisian nightclub, at the cusp of the 20th century. A young poet, who is plunged into the heady world of Moulin Rouge, begins a passionate affair with the club's most notorious and beautiful star.
