FlowerSchool Los Angeles presents the Art of Candle Making: Flower Infused Candles

Come learn how to make flower-infused, custom-scented coconut wax candles using eco-friendly, nontoxic ingredients!

In this workshop, you will have over 40 essential oils to choose from and will learn how to hand-pour two 8oz coconut wax candles into glass jars and customize with infused flowers and your own fragrance blend to take home with you!

Candle Making Basics:
We’ll start with an introduction to the basics: the different types of wax available, heating wax, mixing essential oils and fragrances to create unique scents, and general candle maintenance will be covered. We’ll also share our personal techniques, tips and tricks on how to make the best clean-burning candles.
Creating Custom Scents and Hand-Pouring Candles:
In this workshop, there will be over 40 nontoxic essential oils and fragrance oils to choose from. You’ll have the option to mix and match multiple scents to create your own custom blends. Then you’ll learn how to hand-pour two 8oz coconut wax candles in glass jars to take home.

Flower Infused Candles and Personalized Decorations:
After hand-pouring the candles, we’ll infuse them with dried flowers. While the candles are setting, you’ll have the opportunity to personalize and decorate your candles and gift boxes.

All Tools & Supplies Provided:
All necessary tools and supplies – coconut wax, essential oils and fragrances, dried flowers, cotton wicks, 8 oz glass jars, labels, and decorations – will be provided. As part of this class, you’ll be creating two flower infused candles in 8oz glass jars.

About the instructor, Vicki Liao of This Candle Company:
This Candle Company was founded by Vicki Liao out of a love for candles, all things DIY and green living. She started by experimenting with making candles from nontoxic and eco-friendly ingredients for herself, family and friends. This evolved into starting a small business to teach candle making workshops with a friend and designing a retail collection of uniquely scented, clean burning candles. Our goal is to share our passion for candles with others and have fun along the way.
