DTLA's Best New DJ

The Association is turning up the volume this September with DTLA’s Best New DJ, a month-long competition spotlighting emerging DJs from across Los Angeles.

Every Thursday — September 3, 10, 17 and 24 — three DJs will go head-to-head with 30-minute open-format sets from 10pm to midnight, with the crowd choosing one winner each night. Weekly champs will advance to the October 1 finale, held in conjunction with Happening in DTLA and DTLA ArtNight, where they’ll compete for the title of “DTLA’s Best New DJ.”

Voting happens entirely in person, so come ready to cheer on your favorite. The ultimate winner will take home $500 cash, a paid month-long weekly residency at The Association, online promotion and opportunities to perform at future Happening in DTLA, DTLA ArtNight and Latin District events.

When: Thursdays, September 3, 10, 17 & 24, 2026, 10pm–12am
Final: Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 10pm
Where: The Association, 110 E 6th Street, Downtown Los Angeles

DJs interested in competing can sign up for their preferred Thursday through the competition registration form. Each date is limited to three performers and closes once all slots are filled.
