Pizza Party  I  Sushi Night I  Something Healthy

One of the best developments in the food world over the past couple of years has been the increase in delicious and convenient take out and delivery options. Food to go is no longer synonymous with late night take out or fast food, restaurants across the board have opened their menus up for diners to enjoy wherever they’d like. For whatever your take-out needs may be, we made a handy guide with some suggestions to help you out. Happy feasting!

For a classic pizza party at home:

Slices
  • Slices - This Sicilian, street-side pizzeria is the perfect elevated choice for a classic pizza night at home. Slices prides themselves on highlighting the Italian tradition in their pizza including everything from their imported ingredients to their custom bake pans and ovens hand-built in Venice, Italy. They also offer a variety of go-to starters including buffalo wings, meatballs, and loaded subs.
  • Olio Wood Fired Pizzeria - We're not lying when we say that Olio makes one of the best Margherita pizzas that we've ever had. This Grand Central Market vendor has quality pizzas down to a science. Their wood-fired crust is chewy and crispy all at once and[SH1] the homemade red sauce tastes like your grandma just pulled it off the stove. Add on a Caesar salad with homemade dressing and the focaccia with herbs to make it a party.
  • Danny Boy’s Famous Original Pizza - If you’re looking for the classic pizzeria of your childhood but somehow even better, grab a pizza from this Halo LA vendor. This pizza shop is Chef Daniel Holzman’s answer to the enduring question: “where can I get a great New York style slice here in LA?” Expect classic NYC style pizza, overstuffed hot hero sandwiches, and creative farm-fresh salads that aren’t an afterthought. Don't forget to order some garlic knots too!

For a perfect sushi date night:

Mrs. Fish
  • Sugarfish - For the discerning sushi aficionado, you want high-quality fish that melts in your mouth, and you’ll find it here without fail. Sugarfish is an LA staple for good reason. Their signature “Trust Me” tasting menu makes the perfect to-go sushi plate with all the fixings including edamame, sashimi, hand rolls, and some seriously high-quality nigiri sushi.
  • Sakana Sushi Lounge - This creative and sophisticated sushi outpost in DTLA offers a huge menu with Japanese-style starters like creamy, potato croquettes and hamachi Kama plus a selection of fusion dishes you’ve probably never had before. Think - uni burrata with salmon caviar and yuzu cherry tomatoes or “Deviled Eggs” with soy-marinated eggs and popcorn shrimp. Don’t miss their huge selection of classic and new-school rolls either, perfect for an adventurous foodie!
  • Mrs. Fish - We love the interior of this classic DTLA spot, but their food is just so good that we can’t help but want to eat it at home too and their bento boxes make for an easy, fuss-free take-out dinner. They include delicious nigiri sushi, cut rolls, ginger truffle salad, plus more. Even better, they have a selection of some amazing bottles of sake that you can order to-go if you really want to go all out.

For when you want to be health conscious:

Backyard Bowls
  • Salata - This isn’t your mother’s salad bar! Make the salad of your dreams with over 50 fresh toppings and a dozen signature dressings at this quick and easy lunch mainstay. Salata gives you the freedom to make something that is just as delicious as it is healthy at a great price point.
  • Backyard Bowls - You may be familiar with this fruit-centric store for their great açaí bowls, but they offer so much more! For something a little heartier try one of their porridge bowls filled with steel cut oaks and assorted toppings like banana, berry preserves, or hemp seeds. We also love their savory toasts like the avocado toast topped with watermelon radish, pickled red onion, and sprouts.
  • Sweetgreen - A true LA essential and the perfect option for a healthy lunch or dinner any day of the week. With two locations in DTLA, their online ordering system makes it easy to grab something nourishing and crave-worthy. We love their classic bowls but they make sure to switch it up and offer regular seasonal specials.
  • Veggie Grill - This vegan-friendly fast casual chain is a great option for when you’re going to lunch with a variety of palates. They have something for everyone; even your carnivore coworkers will be impressed. We love their Japanese Katsu-style sliders with seasoned crispy fried Impossible™ mini burgers, pickled vegetables, fresh herbs, and sesame aioli served on steamed bao buns.
