Jason Harley (aka Chef J), who has helmed notable LA eateries Parq and Pici, joins business partner Keith Bae in introducing Birdies in Downtown Los Angeles. The Birdies flagship location in DTLA, will serve as the first in a collection of restaurants, with additional locations already in the works for Los Angeles and New York. The concept is simple: Fresh, fun, all natural food, served fast. Artisanal donuts made hourly and free-range fried chicken will be the staples you can expect on a simple menu of Americana classics reimagined with a modern twist. Birdies will also feature an ever changing offering of rotating specials, a DIY Donut bar, Intelligentsia coffee creations and an in house brewed Birdies brand coffee. Birdies’ menu and vibrant atmosphere, featuring the commissioned works of local artists, will embody an edgy and colorful approach to fine casual dining. Popular Brooklyn-based street artist Never, has been commissioned to create a one of a kind mural on the exterior wall.
