Residential Renaissance

DTLA’s residential renaissance began with a wave of historic office conversions starting in 1999 and yielding over 5,000 apartments. The next phase (2009-2017) was mostly mid-rise construction and added nearly 7,000 new units. Since then, development of primarily high-rise projects has produced over 8,000 units. Combined, all this new housing has enabled Downtown's residential community to grow from under 20,000 to almost 100,000...so far!
