Summer Nights with the Chris Johnson Trio
There are usually another 125,000 other people between an audience member and Chris Johnson. He's spent the last couple of years behind Sabrina Carpenter on Short n' Sweet, one of pop's most closely watched tours, including both headline weekends at Coachella 2026, where Madonna turned up unannounced. He's just back from the Canada/ USA leg of Ne-Yo’s tour too, picking up a partnership that started over a decade ago, in the gaps between Carpenter dates.
On 16 August, all of that shrinks to a room the size of a decent living room. Johnson plays DTLA Hello Stranger, capacity 200, with a trio. "He's spent the last few years on the biggest stages on earth," runs the show's own line. "Tonight he's back in the neighbourhood."
He's joined by the incredible keyboardist Randy Emata and elite bassist Taiki Tsuyama. Between them they'll fill a room where you can hear a brush stroke on a snare drum — not something you'd say about a crowd of 125,000. A musician who normally plays to tens of thousands is playing to two hundred, with nothing between him and the room. Join Chris for an unforgettable evening up close in person, filled with good times. It's the perfect way to chill out and soak up those summer nights in LA. Bring your friends and make it a night to remember!
