Solidarity & Communion kicks off on Fri, 5/21 at 7 PM PST with an evening of HEALING beginning with a special Meditate / Create virtual session with @latimes bestselling author, actor, and Buddhist pastor @noelalumit.

Next, we gather in-person, masked, and outdoors for a West African drumming presentation by Rene Fisher-Mims @drumrene and S.H.I.N.E. at 8 PM PST at @laartcore.

On Sat, 5/22 at 10 AM PST, we explore PROTECTION through a #Bagua movement workshop with internal martial arts instructor, performance artist, and two-spirit medicine person @yunuen_rhi at @laartcore, in-person, masked and outdoors.

At noon PST, Sonny Batata @esgrimaymachete leads participants in stances, footwork, tactics, and sequences of Afro Columbian Machete.

Then, our programming shifts to virtual workshops, so don't forget to register for the Zoom links at bit.ly/solidarityandcommunion!

At 3 PM PST, join us online for Bystander Intervention Training presented by @dcpeaceteam with community organizer, policy analyst, and trainer Eliane Lakam and Active Bystander Intervention, Restorative Justice, Unarmed Civilian Protection, and conflict mediation expert Sal Corbin. We will explore strategies for bystander intervention with respect to the unique challenges encountered by Black and Asian community members.

Finally, we conclude our gathering with RENEWAL through a virtual panel discussion at 7 PM PST: The Past, Present and Future of Mutual Aid, led by @danielledorky (@thrillist, @tarotviews).
