Resilience & Rebuilding: Learning from Other Cities

On Friday March 28th, MOCA will host Resilience & Rebuilding: Learning from Other Cities, the second installment in a series of virtual programs that foreground environment and community-consensus in rebuilding Los Angeles following the fires. During this virtual program, we will hear about mitigation, adaptation, and prevention measures through stories of rebuilding in the wake of three other climate emergencies: the 2023 fires in Lahaina, Maui, HI; the 2018 Camp Fire in Paradise, CA; and Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, LA in 2005. The conversation will be moderated by reporter Adam Mahoney and speakers include:

*Diana Felton, Chief of the Communicable Disease and Public Health Nursing Division, Hawaii Department of Health
*Nancy Convard, Maui Wildfire Coordinator, Hawaii Department of Health
*Steve Crowder, Mayor of Paradise, CA
*Tap Bui, Co-Executive Director of Sông Community Development Corporation, New Orleans
