Red Bull Soapbox Race

Red Bull’s world-famous Soapbox Race is returning to Los Angeles on Saturday, July 19th after a seven-year hiatus with a race route that will transform Downtown Los Angeles and feature homemade craft cars racing down a Hollywood style red-carpet and passing through iconic Los Angeles landmarks.

Red Bull is also excited to announce that beloved Los Angeles Dodger, Kiké Hernández, will be part of race day events and is inviting craft-car enthusiasts from all over the city to access the event application through May 5th at RedBull.com/SoapboxRaceLA.

“I was thrilled when Red Bull invited me to be part of this year’s Red Bull Soapbox Race,” said Hernández. “Just like games at Chavez Ravine, this event is going to bring people and fans from all across Southern California to Downtown and I can’t wait to see all of that excitement at another legendary Red Bull event in Los Angeles.”

The last Red Bull Soapbox Race held in Los Angeles took place in Elysian Park in 2017. This year, the event will once again spotlight talented teams from communities through Southern California as they navigate their homemade and gravity-powered carts through obstacles lined with hay bales and tens-of-thousands of spectators. In addition to the race through the streets of Downtown LA, this year’s Red Bull Soapbox Race will include a full-day activation at Gloria Molina Grand Park. Both events will be free and open to the public.

Angelenos can also now submit their event application through May 5th to have the chance to make their craft car-building dreams come true and cross the finish line this Summer - https://www.redbull.com/us-en/events/soapbox-race-la-usa-2025
