Join Us for the Pembroke-Taparelli Arts & Film Festival 2024 – A Global Celebration of Marginalized Voices and Liberatio

Los Angeles, CA – The Pembroke-Taparelli Arts & Film Festival (PTAFF) is proud to announce
its 2024 edition, running from November 1 through November 3, 2024, at Art Share L.A., 801 E.
4th Place, Los Angeles, CA 90013.

Founded in 2016 by Michelle "Andrea Meshel" Smith, PTAFF is a nonprofit international event
dedicated to empowering marginalized voices through art and film. This year's theme,
"Embracing Liberation," reflects the festival’s commitment to showcasing powerful stories of
resilience, freedom, and the human spirit from around the world.
We are thrilled to announce that Gabriel Casseus, actor, writer, and filmmaker, will be the host
of PTAFF 2024. A New York City native of Haitian descent, Gabriel has had a dynamic career in
film and television, with standout performances in New Jersey Drive (for which he was
nominated for an Independent Spirit Award), Get On The Bus, Black Hawk Down, and many
more. He is also a co-writer of the action-thriller Takers. Gabriel’s passion for storytelling aligns
perfectly with the festival’s mission, making him an exceptional host for this year’s celebration
• Opening Night Reception: November 1, 2024, from 6:30–7:45 p.m.
• Southern California Premiere of Opening Night Film: Ernest Cole: Lost and Found
– An award-winning documentary directed by Raoul Peck (I Am Not Your Negro),
exploring the life of Ernest Cole, the first Black freelance photographer in apartheid
South Africa. Narrated by Lakeith Stanfield, this captivating film has garnered
international praise, including the Golden Eye Award at the Cannes Film Festival.
The festival offers a diverse lineup of film screenings, art exhibits, panel discussions, live
