Green Screen: Our Planet On Film – Manzanar, Diverted: When Water Becomes Dust

The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles is celebrating Earth Month with Green Screen: Our Planet on Film, a free evening film series in the brand new NHM Commons Theater. Learn more about our planet’s ecosystems, environmental history, and the ecological challenges we face today.

On April 17, view Manzanar, Diverted: When Water Becomes Dust. This film weaves together the story of three intergenerational women–Native Americans, Japanese-American WWII incarcerees who defend their land, history, and culture from Los Angeles.

Enjoy an exclusive post-film Q&A with award-winning filmmaker Ann Kaneko to further dive into the film’s themes and a special post-viewing reception filled with light bites, drinks, and a chance to connect with NHM scientists and local environmental organizations.
Don’t miss this powerful exploration of culture, history, and environment.
