Elephant In The Room: Small Talk, Big Issues |The Many Faces of Conservation
Tackle thought-provoking, and sometimes controversial, topics in the museum world and elsewhere with Elephant in the Room: Small Talk, Big Issues, a new after-hours discussion series in NHM Commons.
This year’s theme pulls back the curtain on the artistry, science, and controversies surrounding the Museum’s own beloved 100-year-old diorama halls, providing a platform for dialogue and discovery. The inaugural series complements NHM’s latest exhibition, Reframing Dioramas: The Art of Preserving Wilderness, offering a fresh perspective on these iconic and historic displays.
Join us on March 20 for a panel discussion, “The Many Faces of Conservation,” a discussion with moderator, Neuroscientist, and Science Communicator Dr. Yewande Pearse in conversation with and experts including producer and artist, Lauren Schoth, creator of The Ever-Changing Flow, and additional guest speakers, as they discuss the ways art, science, and culture can inform the future of conservation.
Don’t miss this unique and eye-opening evening of art, science, and storytelling at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles!
Free with RSVP.
