This Day of the Dead, we honor our elders, our community, our heroes, and lives lost to COVID-19 and racial injustice. We honor those who have passed as a testament to resilience, courage, and strength and take inspiration from their legacies. We hope for peace, love, and compassion in a time that is challenging for the living. Altar artist Dalila Paola Mendez is a first-generation queer Central American artist based in Los Angeles.
