Dance at The Music Center: Dance at Dusk

Alonzo King LINES Ballet is at the forefront of artistic innovation in ballet. Guided by the unique artistic vision of Alonzo King, the company’s style adheres to the classical form, while investigating the human spirit and breaking down barriers. LINES Ballet returns for Dance at Dusk after an eight-year absence from Music Center stages. The company will perform a mixed program featuring the full company of 12 dancers.

Choreographed by King in 2019 with music composed by Jazz composer and pianist Jason Moran, The Personal Element allows eight dancers to show off their technical prowess. Special guest and New York City Ballet's Principal Dancer Tiler Peck, a Southern California native, joins LINES Ballet for a new solo work created specifically for her by King. Rising star Roman Mejia will perform with Peck in the live premiere of a new pas de deux, choreographed by King for the two NYCB colleagues.

All events are outdoors. Tickets are available for the live on-stage experience in seated socially distanced pods on Jerry Moss Plaza at The Music Center and for the performance simulcast in socially distanced pods (lawn seating with blankets encouraged) in Grand Park.
