Community Concert: Tierra and Mark Guerrero with Mark & the Escorts, Tango, and Yaqui
Let's go back in time and listen to the classic sounds of the Eastside with Tierra. Tierra’s unique blend of Pop, R&B, Funk and Salsa is considered one of the most influential Latin bands in musical history. Their albums are a testament to their talent that symbolizes decades of dedication to a Latin crossover sound. In addition, the opening act, Mark Guerrero with Mark & the Escorts, Tango, and Yaqui, an East L.A. rock pioneer and the son of the "Father of Chicano Music," Lalo Guerrero, will perform a panorama of his musical journey from 1964 to the present. Bring your own chair and the whole family for an evening of interactive fun! Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
Take advantage of extended museum hours (12pm to 8pm) and explore LA Plaza’s newest exhibition, A Great Day in East L.A.: Celebrando the Eastside Sound. Stop by the LA Tienda pop-up, where you’ll find exclusive A Great Day in East L.A.: Celebrando the Eastside Sound posters and stickers, along with a restock of our popular LA Starts Here tees—always celebrating history y cultura!
Beginning at 6pm, enjoy music by DJ Roca, take part in family-friendly interactive activities, and visit booths hosted by our community partners.
