Community Concert - Magical LA Fusion: Tropa Magica, Buyepongo and LA Junta

Enjoy an evening with Tropa Magica and Buyepongo, where we celebrate the sounds of East Los Angeles and Los Angeles with musical fusions; from guitar and rhythms of 60’s Peruvian Cumbias and 90’s grunge with a neo-southern psychedelic twist that transports the listener into a tropical psychedelic dance party. The night will feature the blending and bonding of influences, seamlessly blending hip-hop, punk, funk, and jazz into a deliriously infectious tropical mix that spans the rich tapestry of the Americas. In addition, LA JUNTA DJ’s will complement the evening with tropical Afro-Latin music Colombia, Brazil, Central America while seamlessly blending rhythms. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

This concert is part of the public programming for LA Plaza’s temporary exhibition A Great Day in East L.A.: Celebrando the Eastside Sound—a multimedia exhibition that delves into the rich musical legacy of East Los Angeles, highlighting the eclectic sounds and cultural influences that shaped its unique artistic identity. The exhibition will be on display from June 28, 2025, through August 23, 2026.
