ASU Borderlands Studios Master Class and Screening Series: Peter Bratt
The border is at the center of America’s political and cultural conversation, yet too often, the voices of those who know it best are left out. Borderlands Studios presents a powerful new series of master classes and screenings featuring our Borderlands Visionary Fellows, four groundbreaking filmmakers whose work challenges, reimagines and reshapes how we see the connections and conflicts between north and south, past and present."
Join acclaimed Peabody Award-winning and Emmy Award-nominated filmmaker Peter Bratt for a master class on his approach to documentary and feature filmmaking, covering topics including developing a story, fundraising, working with actors and non-actors, using storytelling as an agent of change and staying resilient in the face of a thousand "No's." Participants will have the opportunity to mix and mingle with Bratt during a catered reception following the master class. The evening will end with a screening of his award-winning 2017 documentary “Dolores” about Dolores Huerta, the labor activist and civil rights leader who co-founded the United Farm Workers with Cesar Chavez.
