Anime Exhibition: The Incomplete Self

As part of JACCC’s annual summer tradition, we’re proud to present the fourth installment of our student anime exhibition, featuring 30 vibrant works by young artists from Wakayama Prefectural High School, Wakayama University, and anime clubs across Wakayama Prefecture, Japan.

This year’s theme is "Identity ― わたしは、誰?", a freestyle concept that inspired students to explore the many layers of selfhood through art, storytelling, and design. Their works reflect questions of culture, growth, belonging, and self-discovery, revealing how identity is constantly shaped by personal experiences and the world around us. Together, the collection becomes a vibrant expression of courage and creativity, inviting viewers to reflect on their own identities and the connections that unite us despite our differences.

For many students, this is their first time exhibiting abroad, and their excitement shines through in every piece.

Come celebrate the next generation of anime artists, and let their creativity inspire your own.
