Little Tokyo
Far East Building Apartments
Built in 1896, the Far East Building is a cultural and historical icon of the Little Tokyo neighborhood and Japanese American community in Los Angeles. The Far East Building was red-tagged after the Northridge Earthquake in 1994 and rehabilitation work was completed December 2003. These efforts restored the building’s historic aesthetic and converted the previous SRO units into 14 studios and 2 one-bedroom affordable units.
