Alveare
A shuttered state office building in Downtown Los Angeles has made way for a redevelopment with affordable housing from developer Related California.
Alveare, which will span a fully city block located at 1405 S. Broadway, began construction in late-2025 and will be developed in three phases, and eventually consist of 303 units of affordable and permanent supportive housing. Plans also call for a 6,000-square-foot pocket park at the northwest corner of the site.
Steinberg Hart is designing Alveare, which would consist of eight-story buildings wrapping a central green space, opening onto the pocket park at 14th and Hill Streets.
