The proposed development is a joint venture with Chicago-based developer Core Spaces. An existing single-story commercial building and a four-unit apartment complex would be replaced with a seven-story building featuring 63 market-rate apartments and 8 units as affordable housing. Amplify and Core Spaces filed the project through the Transit Oriented Communities guidelines, which allow for relief from zoning provisions such as height and density restrictions for projects that provide affordable housing.
