"In 2021, the Los Angeles City Planning Commission approved a proposal from the Vancouver-based real estate firm which would bring 347 live/work apartments, 187,000 square feet of offices, 22,000 square feet of retail space, and parking for 783 vehicles to a site at 2143 E. Violet Street. That project, which would have included a 36-story apartment tower and an eight-story office building, was also slated to provide 57 units of very low- and extremely-low income affordable housing as a condition of approval.
Three years later, with once surging demand for Arts District offices now looking soft, Onni has submitted revised plans to the Planning Department which appear to discard all office space from the project. Instead, the developer would build 30- and 19-story towers containing a combined 474 one-, two-, and three-bedroom homes with approximately 2,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and subterranean parking for 798 vehicles." -SOURCE: URBANIZE LA
